Editing is something I struggle with. I always like to find out how other people edit.

Badly.
Ho ho. No, seriously. My usual method is to print out the first draft and take a red pen to whatever I think doesn't work. Then I re-type everything with the fixes. I let it sit for a while, print it out, and take a red pen to it. Wash, rinse, and repeat.
Some big changes, like if I know that this scene or the other isn't working, I don't bother with the printing stage. I just hack away at it in the word program. Printing it out really helps me to see what needs doing, though.

I like the idea of printing works, but at the same times i think it's a waste of paper and ink :\ i do have three books of my fantasy series printed out. I cheated and had all 3 books printed through Lulu so i could mark it up.

Yeah, using up all my printer ink by printing out what is essentially the same thing three or four times so I can look over it once makes me die a little inside. But I see so much on paper that I miss when looking it over on a computer. In all fairness, I print it out in the smallest font size I can, since I'm the only one who needs to read it anyway.

that's why i ended up getting a rough draft print via lulu. It was cheeper oddly enough. And the books were bound together.

That wouldn't help the second printing, third printing, fourth printing etc., though.

True. I really should have done a edit via the computer first, then did a full print out.
I haven't printed out any other novels in a while.
